What is Café Wycliffe?

Café Wycliffe began several years ago as the campus ministries arm of Wycliffe Bible Translators. With a focus on mobilizing the next generation, Wycliffe aimed to encourage and equip young people in joining the call of global Bible translation.

It's about community, sharing stories, worshipping together and encouraging and equipping one another as we follow God's heart for the Bibleless peoples of the world.

At Café Wycliffe, we see the value in connecting passionate young believers with career missionaries.

Our Vision

Informal. Intimate. Ethnic.

Comfy pillows on the floor, simple international rice meals, African chai, ethnic musicians, God stories from around the world, great friends and great conversation. All this and more is what you'll find as you enter Café Wycliffe—every Monday night at Wycliffe Canada's Calgary office. Check out the photo gallery.

Speaker: Cassandra Okelue

Originally from Nigeria, Cassandra has a heart for people and a drive for justice. Growing up she always thought a career in Human Rights Law was inevitable with her passion for girl-child issues and speaking up for those who don't have a voice. Through life's numerous challenges, God has revealed himself time and time again proving true HIS word in Habakkuk 2:3, "a message spoken over my life years ago and has stood the test of time and still holds true today in my life." She holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, UK and has enjoyed a 13 year career in Personnel. Cassandra works as a volunteer with Immigrant Services of Calgary and is also a member of CIWA (Calgary Immigrant Women's Association). She currently works as Senior HR Specialist with Wycliffe Canada.

imageOur Vision

Imagine if just one student or young person involved in Café Wycliffe felt called to train as a Bible translator and go to one of the unreached and Bibleless people groups of the world. Just one individual can change the course of history for tens, thousands and even millions of people for eternity because of one choice they make.

At Café Wycliffe, we believe in the value of investing in the next generation of young people whom God will call to the ends of the earth to serve Him. That's why we have created an atmosphere where young and old can share their passion for missions and Bible translation and spur one another on to change the world by making the Word of God available to people of every tribe, nation and language.

So, if you're curious, interested or passionate about Bible translation, missions and God's heart for the unreached people groups of the world, come and join us. We'd love to meet and get to know you!
