Add a missions prayer focus to your cell group

imageYour existing church or home group can enlarge its prayer focus to include the work of missions worldwide. The following ideas and resources can help your group grow in missions awareness and involvement.

Broaden Your World View
Using the Prayer Alive newsletter, learn more about the world of Wycliffe and pray for Canadian members working around the world.

Be Resourceful: Use the group's diverse skills and interests to pray for or promote a Bible translation and literacy project. For example, you might research a topic or country that interests the group, using the Internet, libraries, e-mail or personal contacts.

Become A Bank: When your group gathers, have each member contribute a loonie to a missions fund. If there are 10 people in the group and you meet weekly, you will raise $40.00 in one month for a missionary or project and reaffirm the group's interest and prayer support. A one-time gift is often a great encouragement to a missionary, not for the size of the gift but for the reminder that someone is thinking about them and cares for them.
