Learning to ServeUganda Scripture Poster Project
In this series of 30 minute lessons, children will create and colour Scripture posters, as awards for Ugandan children who are learning to read in the language they speak at home with their parents. In Uganda and many other countries, children speak one language at home and another language at school. This project will encourage Ugandan children to become literate in their mother tongue. When the children reach an educational milestone, they will receive one of these Scripture posters. Furthermore, hanging these Scripture verse posters on a wall in their home will instil a sense of accomplishment in new readers, cement God’s Word in their hearts each time they read it, and allow them to share God’s Word with family and guests who visit them. Preparation for this project takes two people about 30 minutes each, or one person about one hour. This project is a great way for children to help children (and their families) by using a skill they possess right now—colouring! We hope that you and your children or childrens group enjoy this project of beautifying homes and hearts with God’s Word.
