Justin & Tammy Hettinga's Profile

We went to Peru in 2000 as adult literacy specialists to work among the Quechua people. There we helped several indigenous organizations develop sustainable literacy and Bible translation programs. In 2007 Justin completed his MA in NGO leadership from Trinity Western University (done mostly via distance while in Peru).

Having completed our project in the summer of 2010, we moved to Calgary to serve at the headquarters of Wycliffe Canada. Justin is a senior vice president and Tammy is his administrative assistant. Justin oversees Wycliffe Canada's church connections, relationships with field partners, and HR. This new challenge is quite different from what we did in Peru, but the vision is the same: to see that all peoples on earth have access to the Word of God in their mother tongue, enabling them to know God and converse with Him in a language that best speaks to their hearts.

We have two sons, Caleb (Dec '97) and Jesse (Sept '99). As a family we love to do adventurous activities outdoors. We can often be found mountain biking, backpacking, cross country skiing or snowboarding.
