MCCARTHY, Jon and Anita

Jon and Anita are from British Columbia and are currently serving in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Both are trained as teachers and taught in the public school system in B.C. for more than 10 years. After joining Wycliffe in April of 2015, they moved with their four children–Ben (age 8), Jacob (6), Elliott (3) and Lucy (20 months)—to Ukarumpa, a large centre operated by Wycliffe’s key partner, SIL, in PNG. They both teach at Ukarumpa International School.
Jon and Anita are excited to be able to use their skills as teachers to directly support Bible translation by loving, encouraging, mentoring and teaching missionary kids at Ukarumpa. They enjoy having the opportunity to teach youth, lead community groups, act as sponsors on missions trips and pray for the youth in PNG.
