DUGAS, Krista

Krista grew up in the small community of Penniac, New Brunswick. Her passion for Bible translation and literacy development was sparked while attending a Café Wycliffe event in her second year at Atlantic Baptist University (Crandall). She was amazed to learn that everyone has skills that can be used to advance God’s work in missions because of the vast number of roles that need to be filled. This led her to study at the Canada Institute of Linguistics, where she learned even more about the importance of Bible translation, mother-tongue literacy, and effective cross-cultural communication. After graduating with her master’s degree, she spent two years teaching ESL in South Korea before returning to Canada. She is now living in Moncton, N.B. with her husband David and is preparing to serve as an engagement adviser for Wycliffe in Atlantic Canada. She is looking forward to helping others discover how they can use their talents and skills to help end Bible poverty.
