Norbert & Karin's Profile

Norbert and Karin joined Wycliffe in 1989 and worked in Suriname, South America for almost 10 years helping translate the New Testament into Sranan Tongo, the most widely used creole language in the country. Norbert also published 5 dictionaries of Suriname languages produced by SIL researchers in Suriname on the web, and helped typeset 2 other New Testaments. Currently they are working at the Canada Institute of Linguistics doing computer support (Norbert) and being a receptionist (Karin). Norbert is also developing SynPhony, a browser-based program to help with literacy efforts around the world.
