Janine grew up in the Philippines as a daughter of missionary teachers, and knew from a young age that she also wanted to be a missionary teacher. After obtaining her degree, and gaining three years of experience in a Manitoba school, she joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2001.

Janine’s experiences as a third culture kid (TCK) led her to move back to the Philippines in 2001. She had various roles at Faith International Academy in Davao City over the years which included teaching students in elementary (grades 3 & 5) and middle school (grades 6-8). She especially enjoyed being in leadership as the middle school lead teacher and then as the K-12 principal.

Janine returned to Canada in June 2025 and is currently working in Calgary as the Director of Applications and Short Term Staff.
