SPRONK, Tanya

Africa

Tanya Spronk’s prayer is that her work in literacy and education will engage the South Sudanese people with “the life-and-hope-giving Word of God.”

Born and raised in Calgary, Tanya joined Wycliffe Canada in 2004 and shortly after moved to East Africa. For the past 10 years, Tanya has called Juba, South Sudan home. Currently she works with nine language communities to develop literacy materials, train teachers and advocate for the role of South Sudanese languages in education and development, alongside their Bible Translation projects.

Tanya also gives technical assistance to the Ministry of Education and other NGOs and organizations working in the education sector in South Sudan as they deal with the opportunities and challenges of working in a multilingual country.

Tanya is very excited about her role. She would love to have you be part of her team through prayer or finances.
