Americas

Daniel was born and raised in South Korea. While working for a Korean firm, he was commissioned to serve as a “tentmaker” in Libya and Iran.  After his family moved to Canada, he earned a master of divinity degree at Knox College, University of Toronto.

Since joining Wycliffe Canada in 2007, Daniel has served as personnel applications adviser and has been involved in the Korean diaspora engagement team. His ministry includes editor of the Good Seed newsletter, prayer co-ordinator, social media co-ordinator, head facilitator of Kairos Course and human resources administration to help new Korean-Canadian members and volunteers in their application processes. He aims to encourage Korean diaspora churches and their people to become more missional in their focus and lifestyle.

Daniel also serves as an associate pastor of Niagara Korean Presbyterian Church, and institutional pastor of the Canada Eastern Presbytery of Korean Presbyterian Church Abroad.

Daniel’s wife Helen has had a lengthy career in children’s education, as well as Korean folk art. She served more than 15 years as principal of Niagara Korean Heritage Language School, which is sponsored by the district school board of Niagara.

Daniel and Helen are joyfully involved in their home church in St. Catharines, Ont. as choir members, ministry to newcomers and and supporting the church’s pastoral team.
