The Hdi Word for Love

CAMEROON.

While translating the New Testament into Hdi, translator Lee discovered something remarkable.  The Hdi language had several words for love—but only one, ɗvu, described a love that remained steadfast regardless of the other person’s response. It was the perfect word to express God’s unconditional love.

“It would mean that God kept loving us over and over, millennia after millennia, while all that time we rejected His great love,” reflected one Hdi elder.

This Thanksgiving, your gift will  help more people discover the depth of God’s love through Scripture in their own language.
