Since 2013, Rob and Kara Bustin have served in Ethiopia with Wycliffe Canada, bringing a passion for local ministry partnerships and language development to their ministry. Today, Rob has expanded his work across the continent as part of the SIL Africa Language Programs Support team. In this role, he mentors programming staff, assesses project designs, and champions strategic initiatives across Africa in Bible translation, scripture engagement, and language development. He remains deeply connected to Ethiopia, serving on the local SIL Board, supporting the programming team, and acting as the Safety and Preparedness officer.

Meanwhile, Kara actively serves in a small role in partnership development and also works as a substitute teacher at the schools where their three girls attend. For the coming year, the Bustins are based in Canada, where Rob is working remotely before the family returns to Ethiopia.
