Americas STUART, Peter and Linda Peter was born and raised in Bridgewater, N.S. until he left to attend Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill. There he met his wife, Linda who is from Appleton, Wis. They married in 2005 and moved to Washington State, where they continued with Moody Aviation in their mission aviation program. In 2012, they joined Wycliffe and in 2014 moved to Brazil with their two boys. In May 2015, the couple gave birth to their third son, Kean, while living in Brazil. In 2026, after 12 years of serving in missionary aviation, they transitioned back to North America. They continue to be involved in missionary aviation through reaching the next generation of missionary aviators. Using the talents, skills, and experience that God has given them they want to invest in the training of future and current missionaries. ‎ MORRIS, Pamela Originally from southern Ontario, Pamela graduated from the Canada Institute of Linguistics, Wycliffe’s training partner, in 2004. Three years later, she began working in West Africa as the linguist for two nationally run translation teams. Pamela loves engaging with local language communities as they begin discovering the riches and beauty of their own language. She has worked with many different language groups across West Africa, helping them develop writing systems, often for the first time, and providing training for national translators. South Pacific MORK, Jon and Jill Jon and Jill joined Wycliffe in 1989. Since 1993, they have been serving Bible translation through aviation in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Jon spent his first 12 years in Japan, where his dad was a missionary pastor. Jill grew up in northern Ontario. They arrived in PNG with two young daughters and their third daughter was born there. The older two are now working in Canada, while the youngest is attending university. Of the more than 800 languages in PNG, there are now less than 300 still waiting for God’s Word in a language they understand best. Aviation is essential in PNG, as there are few roads and many language groups are in very remote areas. Jon is currently a pilot and flies translators and their supplies to the villages where they work. He has served as chief pilot, training manager and ground operations manager. Jill is working in the personnel office as an administrative assistant. She has served in the school libraries and the aviation department. Americas FENIAK, John and Juanita John and Juanita both grew up in Alberta. They met at Southern Alberta Bible Camp in 1986 and married in 1987. John worked for many years in engineering and project management (including 2 yrs in Malaysia) and Juanita looked after the home and their four children. However, around 2003 they began to sense God’s call into missions and a new and exciting season of their lives began. As the Scriptures have been a cornerstone for both John and Juanita, joining Wycliffe Bible Translators was a natural fit. In 2004 John and Juanita moved their family to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where they worked for 10 years in leadership and support roles for translation, training, and literacy work in the region (John), and serving in the missionary school, language survey, and other local church ministries (Juanita). John and Juanita are currently Development Officers, connecting regularly with Wycliffe donors across Canada. South Pacific DREW, Rebekah Rebekah is from London, ON and serves in Papua New Guinea (PNG) as a translation advisor and consultant. She joined Wycliffe in 2006, while studying for her master’s degree in applied linguistics and exegesis. After graduating, she began working in PNG in 2009, and served from 2010-2013 as an advisor to the Teop Bible translation program in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Since 2015, she has been a translation advisor for the Tiaang Bible translation program on Djaul Island, New Ireland Province. Rebekah is also an ethno-arts specialist, encouraging PNG churches and individuals to worship God using their own musical and artistic styles, as well as their own languages. Her desire is to see the Word of God make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Rebekah loves riding and training horses, using dressage and natural horsemanship techniques. Americas SALKELD, Valerie Since Valerie and Laird Salkeld joined Wycliffe in 2001, they have held a variety of roles. Valerie has served in the prayer ministries department. Her vision is to provide spiritual enrichment to Wycliffe members in Calgary and across the globe through weekly chapel time, retreats, days of prayer, intercession and spiritual direction. “We cannot give what we do not own,” explains Valerie. “Like the Israelites in the desert who didn’t have a written word (individually), they relied on coming together to observe practices to remind them of who they were and what their mission was. Spiritual formation prevents us from becoming a business of translation; our jobs are fulfilled from a passion for the Word in our lives, which validates us to encourage formation in the lives of people in other language groups.” Valerie says she believes in Bible translation because she has seen what has done in her own life. “I love the vision to see a world where translated Scriptures lead to transformed lives among people of all languages, because the Word of God is so vital for transformation in my own life.” Before transitioning to a volunteer role in 2016, Laird spent his career in the communications department as a graphic designer and the department’s director. Laird also played a lot of table hockey during his tenure at Wycliffe, winning the league championship five times. This brings him great pride and joy. Laird has a heart for Bible translation because he sees “so much valuable information” contained in the Scriptures, which he is convinced is best understood by someone in their own language. “My heart for Bible translation has changed, and not changed,” explains Laird. “It has changed in that I am far more informed and realistic about how this work is done and the complexity of it. It has not changed in that I am as passionate as the day I first learned about this work God does through Wycliffe. “I like to think my marketing and communications role transformed some people’s perception of Bible translation and Wycliffe. ‎ MAH, Randall Randall joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2010 and is part of the Diaspora Recruitment team as a mobilizer among the second generation Asian churches. He is a third generation, Canadian-born Chinese (CBC) and is married to Rita. They have two children, Tabitha and Jairus. Randall earned a Master of Divinity degree from Ontario Theological Seminary and Doctor Of Ministry Degree from Fuller Seminary. He was the youth pastor at Richmond Hill Chinese Community Church from 1991-1995 and missions pastor from 2006-2009. From 1995-2003 he and his wife served with Africa Inland Mission in the country of Lesotho. ‎ JAGT, Jon and Candace Jon and Candace are both originally from Southern Ontario. After feeling the Lord’s call to work in Bible translation, they joined Wycliffe Canada in late 2012 and have been working in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since February 2013. Jon’s first role was in the area of software development, but during their first term the Jagts felt increasingly pulled toward administering a translation and literacy program in Madang. After meeting with the group of Papua New Guinean leaders working in this project and seeing their heart for Jesus and for Bible translation, Jon and Candace felt strongly motivated to help facilitate the work they were involved in. The Jagts have been blessed with three beautiful children: Clara (6), Macy (4) and Max (1). Jon and Candace are currently serving with the Gwahatike multi-language translation program, which is located on the north coast of mainland Papua New Guinea. They spend part of their time in that area and part of their time living in Ukarumpa, the main mission centre of PNG. Global NWEKE, Rachel and Uche Rachel and Uche are passionate about the Word of God transforming lives as people respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is to this end that they contribute in various ways to the work of Bible translation. Rachel is from Ontario and Uche is from Delta State, Nigeria. They currently live in Hamilton, Ont., though the reach of their work spans across Canada, throughout dozens of African countries, and to Wycliffe Canada’s 10 Focus Regions on five continents. Their work focuses in three areas of stewarding, strengthening, and strategizing. Stewarding – Every people, nation, and tongue (Rev 7:9) are created by God with their own unique culture; they have been entrusted with the task of caring for God’s creation with the knowledge He has given them. Rachel supports the Scripture Engagement team (SIL Nigeria) in their Faith and Farming initiative. Most, if not all, the languages where Bible translation work is being done, are spoken by farmers. Yet, there is often a disconnect between the life of a farmer and the life of the church. How can translated Scriptures impact them in practical, and life-giving ways? Rachel’s science education is enabling her to contribute to the development of this initiative—stewarding God-given knowledge about health practices for the sake of people’s physical and spiritual restoration. Strengthening – God gives resources for His work, through finances, and personnel for example. As a sending organization, Wycliffe Canada desires to strategically strengthen our focus regions with who and what we send them. In Rachel’s work in mobilization as a mission coach, she learns the personnel needs of our partners, and in turn, recruits Canadian missionaries accordingly, so as to strengthen the Bible translation work they are doing. Strategizing – All these Bible translation efforts in various countries have different needs in different contexts. With his “big picture” thinking, Uche comes alongside leaders in his role as Africa Area Strategy Director to plan for efficient use of resources in accomplishing the task. The area comprises 31 countries, where he serves in strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning, to support God’s mission as appropriate in each context. Global PALMER, Craig Craig is from the Vancouver area, but lived much of his childhood in Russia where his family were missionaries. He studied electrical engineering and then transitioned to software development after graduation. Craig was drawn to Wycliffe due to his interest in linguistics and passion for God’s Word. An internship with Wycliffe in Cameroon in 2016 confirmed that God was leading him into a role in Bible translation. Craig joined Wycliffe full-time in 2021 to work with the software TBTA (The Bible Translator’s Assistant) which is designed to save valuable time in the translation process. He is excited to work with teams around the world to set up and use the software for their particular language so that more people can access God’s Word.
