Growing up in West Africa, Rachel was immersed in missions from an early age. After returning to Calgary in her teen years, she pursued her passion for Bible translation, completing a master’s degree in linguistics and exegesis. In 2006, she joined Wycliffe’s staff and later participated in a Bible translation project in Tanzania, where she met her husband, Shady. They married in 2012 and moved to Toronto for Shady’s studies, during which Rachel continued her work with Wycliffe.
In 2013, Rachel and Shady returned to Calgary. Rachel first served in the applications department and later in partnership development, where she walked alongside Wycliffe staff to help them build strong teams of prayer and financial partners.
Today, Rachel serves as External Communications Coordinator with Wycliffe Canada, where she helps tell the stories of Bible translation and builds meaningful connections between the Canadian church and the work happening around the world. She is passionate about helping people see how God is moving through Scripture translation and inviting them to be part of making His Word accessible to every language community.
Rachel’s greatest joy is seeing people across Canada catch a vision for Bible translation and join the mission of bringing God’s Word to those still waiting.
