WIEBE, Bruce and Raewyn

Africa

Bruce develops alphabets for unwritten languages needing translation. He’s one of few in the world specializing in tonal languages. He travels back and forth to Mexico to consult with several language teams developing alphabets. He also coordinates staff and student research at the Canada Institute of Linguistics, Wycliffe’s training school. This helps keep translation on the cutting edge.

Raewyn captured a glimpse of God’s heart for the nations through a mission trip to Papua New Guinea. She went on to train as a Bible translator.

Over the past 30 years, Raewyn has served with Wycliffe through teaching, administration, leadership initiatives, and helping members share their ministry vision. She has been on hiatus to serve their family, and is now in the process of seeking a new role.
