Naaman, Lorae and their two daughters are working with a minority language in the Solomon Islands, called Tairaha. They long for all people to access God’s Word in the language they understand best.
Naaman’s B.A.’s in linguistics and anthropology gave him the foundation he needed to begin the work of analyzing and documenting Tairaha. Partnering with the Tairaha-speaking community as an adviser, he is helping with the process of standardizing Tairaha’s written form and describing its grammatical structure.
Currently the family is on home assignment, with Naaman working towards an M.A. in linguistics and translation. They are looking forward to returning to the Solomons and assisting Tairaha-speakers in their work of translating the Bible into their own language.
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb (Revelation 7:9).
