KUNZ, Beat and Robyn

Beat (born in Switzerland) and Robyn (born in Edmonton) met in Cameroon in 1997. Robyn had worked two years as an itinerant teacher for missionary children, and Beat was on his way to start a Bible translation project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Beat and Robyn have three children, and as a family, lived in the Central African Republic, the DRC and in Chad. Their main focus was on enabling nationals to have an ever-growing influence and responsibility in making Bible translation, literacy, multilingual education and related activities, available to their respective language communities.

In 2016, Beat and Robyn returned to Canada for their children’s education. Tabea and Nadja are now at university, and Simeon is serving with Youth with a Mission.

Beat and Robyn are currently serving at the Wycliffe office in Calgary. Beat is vice-president of field partnerships, visiting and evaluating projects sponsored by Wycliffe Canada. He is also a coach for strategic planning with our field partner, SIL, in francophone Africa. Robyn is working in partnership development, helping members build their support teams.
