On Oct. 1, acoustic singer/songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones will release a collaborative album called Your Way Of Singing. The collection of songs were inspired by the artist’s recent visit to southern Ethiopia, where he took part in an ethnomusicology workshop with more than 30 musicians from the Gamo language group.“The tracks showcase a mix of new songs,” says Davies-Jones, “fused with field recordings that I made of the Gamo musicians performing.
“It’s been a fantastic and inspiring project to be part of and I hope it will give a small insight into the wonderful musical culture of the Gamo and the work of Wycliffe Bible Translators.”
