Originally from southern Ontario, Pamela graduated from the Canada Institute of Linguistics, Wycliffe’s training partner, in 2004. Three years later, she began working in West Africa as the linguist for two nationally run translation teams. Pamela loves engaging with local language communities as they begin discovering the riches and beauty of their own language. She has worked with many different language groups across West Africa, helping them develop writing systems, often for the first time, and providing training for national translators. These are some of the vital tools needed to form the foundation of a successful translation project.
