Transformation: Cameroon

A team of Canadians will experience firsthand how God’s Word is transforming lives and communities in Cameroon. Together, we’ll serve language projects and local churches through Scripture engagement activities, while also reflecting on the next faithful step God may be inviting each participant to take.
The Transformation experience includes eight pre-trip discipleship and training sessions (Jan–Apr), three weeks in Yaoundé, Cameroon and surrounding areas (May), and a post-trip debrief.

Goals:  See transformation—and experience it yourself.

1. Witness the transformation that happens when people receive God’s Word in their heart language.
2. Complete pre-field and on-field training to build a strong foundation for missions involvement.
3. Learn and engage in prayer walks in strategic areas of Cameroon. Experience the importance of prayer for global missions. 
4. Work as a team to support local churches, communities and translation teams through Scripture engagement activities.
5. Develop communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, using them to benefit the team and our partners. Cultivate a learning posture as a way to serve others. 

Debrief and reflect on your own skills and interests, and consider your next faithful step  in cross-cultural service.

The ideal participant

• Highly values Scripture and recognizes the need for all people to have access to it in the language that’s best for them.
• Seeks to follow God’s leading, even when it’s not easy or comfortable.
• Values personal growth and engages in learning, both individually and as a team member.
• Prioritizes community and teamwork, serving others with their gifts and skills, and following directions when necessary.
• Must be legally employable in Canada

Please apply through our online registration form. Our team will follow up to interview you and check your references. Once accepted, we’ll ask you to confirm your participation with a $200 deposit and to agree to the pre-field, field and debrief plans.

First team meeting: Monday, December 15, 2025, on Zoom

• Bi-weekly Zoom calls: January–April (eight sessions, approximately two hours each) for missions discipleship and pre-field training
• Post-trip debrief: Trip facilitators Lucy and Rachel will connect with you to reflect on your experience

The trip costs approximately $1000 plus airfare (approx. $2,500). Flights from your city to Yaoundé are included in the estimated airfare price; travel to your nearest airport is your responsibility. The price covers all accommodation, flights, food, visas, rental cars and tourism activities. You may also bring extra money for souvenirs.
A key part of the experience is building a support network of prayer and financial partners. Wycliffe Canada trip leaders will guide you with resources, coaching and fundraising sessions, including time to reflect as a team on the biblical principles behind partnership. Developing this network provides prayer, encouragement, accountability and financial support—blessing both you and your community.
Participants are asked to provide 50 names of individuals or churches who could be invited to partner financially in support of the trip.

We will be staying in secure accommodations, typically guest houses run by religious organizations. In most cases, you’ll have a single bed in a shared room, with shared bathrooms.
