CanIL Ride to Aid Students

This summer, Team CanIL will once again be part of the Valley GranFondo cycling event, to be held July 20 in B.C.’s lower mainland. Each participant is asked to raise at least $1,000 to help provide scholarships, bursaries and awards for students at the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL). Participants can choose between three rides: PrestoFondo (50 km), MedioFondo (100 km), and GranFondo (160 km).

CanIL’s scholarships, bursaries and awards fund directly assists qualifying students with their tuition and other expenses while in a CanIL study program. One hundred per cent of each contribution is used for the benefit of students and graduates, thanks to the commitment of sponsors who cover all event-related costs. In addition, generous supporters of CanIL typically provide matching funds to multiply donations received online or offline during the CanIL Ride.

Most graduates of CanIL commit to a vocation in language development, literacy work and Bible translation among remote and marginalized language groups across the globe. Their work helps revitalize declining cultures and provide Scriptures in their heart language.
