Prayer Point: AIDIA Bible Dedication

After many years of waiting, the complete Bible in Eastern Apurímac Quechua is finally printed and ready for dedication! This is an incredible milestone for AIDIA, Wycliffe’s Bible translation partner organization in Peru. While translation work concluded in 2021, delays that were outside AIDIA’s control meant that the printing process extended until the end of 2024. It was a frustrating season for everyone involved with the translation, as well as for all those waiting to read the Bible in their own language. But “now, with hearts full of joy and thanksgiving to God, we can celebrate the printing of the complete Bible,” says Luis Cervantes, the director of AIDIA.

During 2025, AIDIA will host a series of Bible dedication events in centres around the province of Apurímac. This will ensure that as many people as possible can attend the celebrations and receive their own copy of the Bible.

Praise God that the complete Scriptures are finally printed and ready for dedication! Pray that access to the complete Bible would lead to transformation in the lives and communities of Eastern Apurímac Quechua speakers.

As much as a complete translation is the end of a journey, it also marks new potential for transformation, as people gain access to the full counsel of God’s Word. “As a pastor, especially, it’s so wonderful,” says Oscar Sanchez, one of the project’s translators and now a consultant. “It’s such a wonderful tool for me to have—as I preach and teach my own church—to have the entire Bible, finally, in my language.”

Prayer

Please pray that the Bible dedications would attract a lot of interest, and would result in many people encountering Jesus and His love for them.

Pray against any spiritual attacks that might hinder the celebrations and the distribution of the Bibles. Spiritual persecution is common when major milestones are being reached.
